You are picked up from your respective hotel/lodge and transferred to the Safari Par Excellence office in town. Check in is done at the office before you proceed to the Masuwe estate. Upon arrival, tea, coffee and cordials are served – after which the guide will give a short introductory talk including all safety aspects. You are then required to sign an indemnity. You are then introduced to our Elephants (Clem, Em, Penny & Miss Elly) and their Handlers.

On mounting the Elephants, the Safari begins. The trail leads through the pristine bush and valley of the Masuwe River , which is home to numerous species of wildlife, including, elephants, kudu, buffalo , impala, leopard and sometimes even lions. There is excellent birding with over 50 species to be sighted.
Each Elephant is under the charge of a Handler – the trips are lead by a professional Guide, who is armed and carries a first aid kit and handheld radio.
The AM Safari ends with a light breakfast consisting of muffins & pastries. The PM safari ends with a good choice of snacks and drinks. |
Elephant Back Safaris and encounters also operate on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls.
Helicopter and Microlight Flights
Experience a bird’s eye view of the Victoria Falls on a thrilling flight over the Falls and the Zambezi River in a helicopter or Microlight aircraft. The helicopter is designed so all passengers have a good view. The Microlight has an open cockpit for the ultimate ride with the wind in your face. 15-minute flights also go downstream over the Batoka Gorge and upstream over the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, an opportunity to see game in the park below.
Microlight – morning flights 06h30 to 10h00, afternoon flights 15h00 to 18h00.
Helicopter – flights operate all day 08h00-16h30. |

Masuwe Safari Lodge

Masuwe Lodge is located on the Masuwe River on the Masuwe estate, which is situated 10 kilometres from the centre of Victoria Falls , 3 km’s off the Airport road. Common wildlife sightings on the estate are kudu, impala, zebra, wildebeest, bush buck, buffalo, Elephants, leopards and a wide variety of birds.
The lodge accommodates 20 guests. Two double and eight twin-bedded canvas under thatch chalets with en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin. The Executive / Honeymoon chalet with en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin and a private deck overlooking virgin bush.
All chalets have a veranda with deck chairs and a private view of the bush. |
White Water Rafting
Experience one of the world’s greatest rivers in all its glory. The Zambezi River offers rafting of various levels on both sides of the falls.
