SOUTHERN & EAST AFRICA FOCUS
- Guest feedback from Matetsi Water Lodge (Victoria
Falls): “The highlight of our stay was personalised
service – everybody knew our names and treated us so well;
we were made to feel very welcome and special. The early morning
and evening game-drives were stunning and the sunset cruise was
amazing. Matetsi Water Lodge is a credit to the people of Zimbabwe,
we will return.” Contact us for more information on
our fantastic 3-day/2-night Safari Offer to Matetsi Water Lodge
– set along 15 kilometres of exclusive Zambezi River frontage
on a 50 000-hectare private concession.
- Great Migration Update: On 2 July 2004, we
received the following update from Karen Richards, Grumeti River
Camp Manager: “Some wildebeest were seen already heading
north towards Klein’s Camp in the Mara a few days ago, although
the Masira plains still look as though God was let loose with
a pepper grinder! Just when we thought that they may all be heading
off early, a huge herd was spied on the opposite bank of the Grumeti
River. On closer inspection, we found the remains of freshly eaten
carcasses that had fallen prey to the infamous Grumeti crocodiles.”
Remember to book now to catch the 2005 Migration as it crosses
the Serengeti. Visit www.wildwatch.com
for more exciting wildlife sightings.
- Mnemba Island Lodge – East Africa’s
most beautiful private island just off Zanzibar – has reopened
after a total rebuild. Guests love the elevated bedrooms, spacious
new bathrooms and dining and bar areas featuring breathtaking
sea views. Mnemba has just been voted by The UK Independent
as one of the world’s Five Best Private Islands.
