The most luxurious Train in the world, Rovos Rail's Pride of Africa,
will depart from Cape Town on this historic and epic Safari through Africa.
Guests will board this beautifully restored Edwardian Train, which is
privately owned, and travel in the footsteps of such illustrious adventurers
as Livingstone, Speke, Stanley, Burton, Selous, Lord Delamere, Blixen
and Finch-Hatten. Rovos Rail has designed this safari for travelers who
wish to re-live true adventure in utter luxury, comfort and security.
This unique experience will not only enthral train enthusiasts but also
provide guests with an incomparable way of travelling through the savage
beauty of Africa.
Itinerary
Day 1
Following breakfast this morning you will be met at your Cape Town Hotel by a Representative of Rovos Rail for your road transfer to Cape Town train station, where you will board your Rovos Rail Train for your Edwardian Train Safari (Cape Town to Dar es Salaam)
This afternoon we will arrive in Matjiesfontein in time to explore this Victorian village before dinner and our overnight on the train.
Day 2
Today the train will continue on until arriving in Kimberley in tme for lunch at the Kimberley Club. We will then visit the Big Hole and the Diamond Museum with a historic tram ride. After departing Kimberley we will enjoy dinner on the train before retiring.
Day 3
Today we will arrive in Pretoria in time for a light lunch followed by a city tour, we will then board the train for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 4
Today we will arrive in Hoedspruit for full board two-night stay at 5-star Thornybush or Kapama Game Lodge.
Day 5
Today you can participate in optional early morning game drive, evening game drive or guest activities. Tonight will be spent at the Lodge.
Day 6
Today you will participate in an early morning game drive before departing Hoedspruit; we will then arrive at Beit Bridge for border formalities.
Day 7
Today we travel through Zimbabwe where we will have lectures by historian in the morning and afternoon.
Day 8
Today we arrive in Victoria Falls. Transfer from Station to the Victoria Falls Hotel. This afternoon you will be taken on a sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River followed by an African Spectacular Show Dinner and overnight will be at the Hotel.
Day 9
Today is a day at leisure - tour of the Falls, game of golf, Flight of the Angels, etc. Depart Victoria Falls we will then arrive Livingstone for border formalities.
Day 10
Today we pass through Lusaka, breakfast, lunch and dinner on board with lectures in the morning and afternoon.
Day 11
Following brunch we will have outing at Kundalila Falls. Depart Kanona. Dinner on board the train today, pass through Mpika and Kasama overnight.
Day 12
Today we will arrive in Nakonde/Tunduma for Zambian/Tanzanian border control,
breakfast, lunch and dinner on board the train today.
Day 13
Today we will arrive Makambako. Descend spectacular pass to Mlimba.
Day 14
Arrive Kiduna and continue journey through Mzenga to Dar es Salaam. Breakfast on board. Arrive Tazara Station, Dar Es Salaam.
