A family-friendly adventure safari into the magnificent Kalahari Desert and Makgadikgadi Pans. Get up close and personal with meerkats and experience something of Botswana’s culture at the baobab capital of the world! Planet Baobab is a traditionally-styled Kalanga village shaded by enormous and ancient baobab trees, offering 15 twin Bakalanga huts (sleeps 2) and 3 family Bakalanga huts (sleeps 4)—all with en suite bathrooms. The camp features the largest, coolest and most welcoming swimming pool in the Kalahari, electricity and a “superbly funky” bar.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrive Planet Baobab. Bush walk and sundowner drink, followed by dinner. Overnight in a Baklanga Hut.
Day 2:
Breakfast, village and cattlepost visit with a traditional lunch. Quad bike activity across the pans and an overnight trip to Ntwetwe Pan with a BBQ dinner.
Day 3:
Spend time with habituated meerkats and visit Green's Baobab followed by breakfast at Planet Baobab. 2 night package: Depart—tour ends. 3 night package: Nxai Xini Pan afternoon trip with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight in a Bakalanga Hut.
Day 4:
Cooked breakfast. Depart. |
