Johannesburg to Victoria Falls (or vice versa)

Day 1: Pretoria/Soweto
After collection from the airport or your hotel depart on a full day tour of Pretoria "The Jacaranda City" and Soweto. Visit the Union Building and Paul Kruger House, the Voortrekker Monument and other places of interest before short tour of Soweto.

Day 2: Swaziland
We cross the border into Swaziland and take a scenic drive through Pigga Peak stopping at a rural Swazi home and visiting the Kingdom’s highlights – the Royal village and craft markets.

Day 3 & 4: Mozambique
We continue on our journey to Maputo, which offers a different African perspective with its Portuguese influence. Visit the highlights of this busy city including the Catholic Catherdal and Casa do Ferro. The following day take a boat trip to Inhaca Island to relax on white sandy beaches.

Day 5 & 6: Kruger National Park
The Kruger National Park is South Africa’s premier game reserve. We spend two days game viewing in the National Park.

Kruger National Park is home to the Big Five – lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant.

Day 7: Panorama Route
Today we visit the highlights of the Eastern Transvaal including Blyde River Canyon, Bourke Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Mac Mac Falls and the pioneer Gold mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest.

Day 8: Soutpansburg/Venda
Today we stop at Boere Monument, African Villages, visit rock art paintings in rural African surroundings. Cross the South Africa/Zimbabwe border and travel onto Svishavane.

Day 9: Great Zimbabwe Monument
A morning visit to the Great Zimbabwe Monument – this 700 year old world heritage site, remains Africa’s largest stone structure after the pyramids of Egypt. Stroll amongst the ruins and visit Lake Mutirikwi.

Day 10: Bulawayo/Matobo Hills
Visit the city of Bulawayo including the craft centre and the museum. Visit Cecil John Rhodes Grave site and the Bushman Caves.

Day 11: Hwange National Park
A full day of game viewing in the Hwange National Park – home to the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa. This spectacular reserve is the largest in Zimbabwe.

Southern Cross - Emerald Class

Day 12: Mlibizi
Visit the scenic resort area of Mlibizi on the Zambezi River between Kariba and Victoria Falls. Afternoon sunset cruise.

Day 13: Livingstone (Zambia)
Here we will see the spectacular Victoria Falls from the Zambian side. Visit the Livingstone museum and the Murabama markets. Enjoy a cruise before crossing the border back into Zimbabwe and overnight on board the train in Victoria Falls.

Day 14: Chobe National Park
Today we cross the Zimbabwe/Botswana border by vehicle for a full day of game viewing in the Chobe National Park and an afternoon cruise on the Chobe River.

Day 15: Victoria Falls
Enjoy a guided walking tour of the falls through the rainforest. Time at leisure to take an optional helicopter ride over the falls.

Day 16: Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
