Johannesburg to Cape Town

A classic South Africa sightseeing experience taking the traveller from Johannesburg through the Kruger National Park, Swaziland and Zululand then along the Garden Route into Cape Town. Moderate to First Class accommodation utilised throughout. English speaking guide and luxury air conditioned vehicles used for all transportation.

Itinerary

Day 1: Blyde River Canyon Depart Johannesburg after breakfast for the Mpumalanga province taking in spectacular scenery en-route including the Blyde River Canyon and God's Window. Overnight near Hazyview. Day 2: Kruger National Park Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Kruger National Park with packed breakfast. While searching for the "Big Five" there's the opportunity of enjoying prolific bird life and numerous other game. Spend the afternoon relaxing at our next hotel, just outside the park. Late afternoon or night open-vehicle game drives available (optional & for own account). Breakfast.

Day 3: Kruger National Park
After early morning coffee or tea, depart on an open vehicle game drive through Kruger National Park with pre-packed breakfast. Return to the hotel to relax for the afternoon. Late afternoon or night open-vehicle game drives available (optional & for own account). Breakfast.

Day 4: Kruger National Park to Swaziland
After an early breakfast travel through beautiful countryside and enter the Kingdom of Swaziland. Visit the Ngwenya glass factory before reaching the hotel. Spend the late afternoon relaxing, or visit a nearby craft market. Overnight in Swaziland. Breakfast.

Day 5: Swaziland to Zululand
After breakfast we continue south before re-entering South Africa. Travel to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve for dinner and overnight. Breakfast.

Day 6: Zululand to Durban
Early morning game drive, then arrive at a traditional Zulu village in time for lunch and a show displaying local culture. Continue our journey to Durban. Breakfast/Lunch.

Day 7: Durban
Day at leisure in Durban (unescorted). Opportunity to enjoy one of our optional (for own account) day excursions. Breakfast.

Day 8: Durban to Port Elizabeth
Transfer to Durban airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival in Port Elizabeth, transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner/Breakfast.

Day 9: Garden Route – Knysna Head westwards, soon reaching the Tsitsikamma Mountains and indigenous forests. Remainder of afternoon at leisure to explore the area. Overnight Knysna. Breakfast. Day 10: Garden Route – Knysna Enjoy the shops and atmosphere of this lovely town before a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head and a walk back through the milkwood trees for lunch. Breakfast/Lunch. Day 11: Garden Route - Oudtshoorn Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Proceed to the vast limestone caverns known as the Cango Caves for lunch (optional) and a tour. Overnight Oudtshoorn. Dinner/Breakfast.

Day 12: Garden Route to Cape Town
Travel via Montagu and the "Klein Karoo" to Cape Town, arriving in the late afternoon.
