Namibia, with its combination of vast, largely untouched country and relatively tiny population,is the ultimate land of discovery and soul-searching. This is a land of wide horizons, endless stretches of golden desert dunes, surreal rock formations and rocky plains. Namibia is the ideal country for your African Safari or vacation and in this tour we will highlight some of these superb features.

Itinerary:

Day 1: (Sun) Windhoek - Etosha National Park
This morning depart early and head north, via Okahandja, for a visit to a local market to shop for wood carvings and curios. We visit the Otjikoto Lake, Namibia’s largest natural lake, then continue to our lodge situated on the border of the Etosha National Park. (LD)

Day 2: (Mon) Etosha National Park
Today we will spend a full day in this world class game park, visiting a number of waterholes to observe the wildlife. Etosha, translated, means ‘The place of dry water’ and here we get our first view of the magnificent pan. Accommodation: Mushara Lodge or similar. (BD)

Day 3: (Tue) Etosha National Park
We again enter the park, driving along the vast saltpan with stops at various waterholes and game viewing en route. After lunch at Halalai Restcamp (own account) we continue westwards through the park and on to our overnight stop. Accommodation: Namatubis or similar. (BD)

Day 4: (Wed) Etosha National Park - Damaraland
An early start to see the highlights of Damaraland - one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa. We head through Otjo, Khorixas, the capital of this region. We pass through scenic landscapes and Damara villages before we reach the Petrified Forest. We arrive at our lodge at lunchtime and visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein in the afternoon. Day 5: (Thu) Damaraland
Optional excursion to the “White Lady” in the morning, with afternoon at leisure. Accommodation: Brandberg White Lady or similar. (BD)

Day 6: (Fri) Damarland - Swakopmund
We continue to Henties Bay in time for lunch (own account). Afterwards proceed to the charming coastal resort of Swakopmund. We visit some of the regions natural wonders such as the ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis, the Moon Landscape and the Oasis Goanikontes. Accommodation: Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre or similar. (B)

Day 7: (Sat) Swakopmund
Today is a free day in this charming town. Options include visiting the museum, the aquarium, the crystal gallery, a harbour cruise or simply to just explore the town. Accommodation: Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre or similar. (B)

Day 8: (Sun) Swakopmund - Sossusvlei
We travel via Walvis Bay to the edges of the Namib Desert and then proceed through the southern region of the Namib Naukluft Park, the Kuiseb Canyon, and the Gaub Pass before we reach our accommodation. Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or similar. (BD)

Day 9: (Mon) Sossusvlei
We visit the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, reputedly the highest dunes in the world. Energetic guests may choose to climb to the top of the dunes, before returning to our lodge. Accommodation: Namib Desert Lodge or similar. (BD)

Day 10: (Tue) Sossusvlei - Windhoek
This morning we have a leisurely start and drive through the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass on to Windhoek. You arrive at your Windhoek city hotel or Windhoek International Airport late afternoon. (B)
