This safari covers all the highlights in Southern Africa, including Kruger Park, a private Game Reserve, Cape Town, a journey on the luxurious Blue Train and Victoria Falls. Not only is the wildlife viewing stunning but we encounter a number of ancient tribes en route. An impressive portfolio of hotels and lodges are utilised on this comprehensive safari.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Johannesburg
Depart Australia on flight to Johannesburg. On arrival, met and transferred to your hotel for overnight. Afternoon at leisure to relax.

Day 2: Blyde River Canyon
Depart Johannesburg for the Mpumalanga province, taking in spectacular scenery en route including the Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window. Overnight near Hazyview.

Day 3: Kruger National Park
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Kruger National Park with packed breakfast. While searching for the “Big Five” there’s the opportunity of enjoying prolific bird life and numerous other game. This afternoon, transfer to one of Africa’s legendary game lodges—Sabi Sabi. Meet your ranger and transfer to the lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon/evening game drive and overnight at the lodge including all meals. [BLD]

Day 4: Kruger National Park
Up early for a game drive before enjoying a Community Visit: Amazing Grace Children’s home—cares for AIDS orphans and abused children in a bright and cheery environment. Late afternoon or night open-vehicle game drives available (optional & for own account). [B]

Day 5: Kruger National Park – Swaziland
Travel through beautiful countryside and enter the Kingdom of Swaziland. Visit the Ngwenya glass factory and well-known Swazi candle factory, before reaching the hotel. Spend the late afternoon relaxing, or visit a nearby craft market. Overnight in Swaziland. [B]

Day 6: Swaziland – Zululand
Continue south before re-entering South Africa. Travel to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve for dinner and overnight. [B]

Day 7: Zululand – Durban
Early morning game drive, then arrive at a traditional Zulu village in time for lunch and a show displaying local culture. Continue our journey to Durban. [BL]

Day 8: Durban
Day at leisure. [B]

Day 9: Durban – Port Elizabeth
Transfer to Durban airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival in Port Elizabeth, transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. [BD]

Day 10: Garden Route – Knysna
Head westwards, soon reaching the Tsitsikamma Mountains and indigenous forests. Remainder of afternoon at leisure to explore the area. Overnight Knysna. [B]

Day 11: Garden Route – Knysna
Enjoy the shops and atmosphere of this lovely town before a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head and a walk back through the milkwood trees for lunch. [BL]

Day 12: Garden Route – Oudtshoorn
Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. Proceed to the vast limestone caverns known as the Cango Caves for lunch (optional) and a tour. Overnight in Oudtshoorn. [BD]

Day 13: Garden Route – Cape Town
Travel via Montagu and the “Klein Karoo” to Cape Town. Community Visit: Community Farm School— for the children of local labourers in the area. [B]

Day 14: Cape Town
Full day guided tour to Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsular. Overnight Cape Town. [B]

Day 15: Cape Town
Full day guided tour to the Cape Winelands. Overnight Cape Town. [B]

Day 16: Blue Train
Transfer to the station to board the luxurious “Blue Train” for an overnight journey to Johannesburg. All meals included. [BLD]

Day 17: Johannesburg
On arrival, met and transferred to your hotel for overnight. [B]

Day 18: Victoria Falls
Transfer to the airport for flight to Livingstone. On arrival, transfer to the David Livingstone Safari Lodge for 2 nights. Afternoon sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Dinner at the Lodge this evening. [B]

Day 19: Victoria Falls
Visit the Falls and guided tour of Chief Mukuni’s Village. Overnight at the lodge. [B]

Day 20: Johannesburg
Transfer to the airport for flight to Johannesburg and onward journey to Australia. [B]
