Blantyre to Lilongwe
This trip will take you to off the beaten track destinations such as experiencing yesteryear at Huntingdon House – Satemwa Tea Estate, as well as the better-known destinations like Liwonde National Park. It gives the visitor a chance to experience a fascinating mix of safari, hills and mountains as well as 3 days to relax on Lake Malawi.
Itinerary
Day 1: Blantyre
Arrive at Chelika International Airport, met for road transfer to Huntingdon House – Satemwa Tea Estate, situated in the famous Thyolo tea region of Malawi. Accommodation at Huntingdon House, is all inclusive as well as activities such as horse-riding, quad bike, bird watching and walks through the tea plantations.(BLD)
Day 2: Huntingdon House
Share in the scenic beauty and magic of Satemwa from horseback, quad or mountain bikes and on foot. Forest birding and tea tasting are unique to the area while unwinding the picturesque gardens is a favorite with guests.(BLD)
Days 3/4: Liwonde National Park
After breakfast, depart Huntingdon House and transfer to Liwonde National Park – one of Malawi’s premier game parks offering some of the most scenic game viewing in beautiful riverne surroundings. From elephants t sable antelope and warthogs plus prolific bird watching opportunities. Two nights Mvuu Camp (BLD)
Enjoy a full day of game viewing, nature walks and boating safaris.
Days 5/6/7: Mumbo Island – Lake Malawi
After breakfast a road transfer to Cape Maclear, where you will board a boat and ferry across the waters of Lake Malawi to Mumbo Island. You will spend the next 3 nights, indulging yourself in a castaway fantasy from the luxury of a private island chalet. (BLD)
Day 8: Lilongwe
After breakfast a boat transfer to Cape Maclear then a road transfer to Lilongwe, Capital city of Malawi. Situated on the outskirts of Lilongwe, Kumbali Lodge offers exceptional comfort in individually decorated chalets awaits you along with an enthusiastic and professional service. Day 9: Lilongwe
City tour of Lilongwe, with your personal guide and driver. Spend the last day negotiating over some of Malawi’s famous curios and artwork in Old Town. Overnight at Kumbali Lodge (BD)
Day 10: Lilongwe
Transfer to Kamuzu International Airport. (B)
