14 Days - Windhoek to Windhoek

Join us on this 11 night standard mobile safari with 2 nights chalet accommodation en route. Accommodation is provided in spacious dome tents with camp beds, mattress, sleeping and pillow. A safari aimed at travellers wanting to get close to nature and wildlife and who are searching for a rare wilderness experience in Africa. The guide and assistant/ cook take care of the camp duties including putting up and taking down the tents – no camp duties – just time to relax and enjoy.

Itinerary

Day 1: Windhoek
Arrive Windhoek. Day is spent at leisure. Hotel Safari . (Dinner own arrangements).

Day 2 & 3: Etosha National Park
Drive to Etosha National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives are enjoyed. Evenings spent watching animals around the floodlit waterhole bordering our campsite.  Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals).

Day 4: Etosha National Park
We continue our game drives in Etosha and move to the eastern side.  Our camp is set up on a private concession.  Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals).

Day 5: Ruacana
Drive through ‘Owaboland’, communal farming land of the Oshiwambo people. Stop to view a giant Baobab tree that once functioned as a church. Arrive Ruacana, time to relax in our camp at the banks of the Kunene River.  Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals)

Day 6 & 7: Kaokoland – Himba Visit – Epupa Falls
The Epupa Falls are a series of cascades where the Kunene River drops 60m in 1.5km forming a multitude of channels and rock pools.  We visit a Himba village - a semi-nomadic tribe, who live in scattered settlements throughout the region. Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals).

Day 8: Damaraland
Morning drive takes us to our camp in Damaraland. The changing colours of the surrounding landscapes are enjoyed on a guided walk. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day 9: Twyfelfontein - Brandberg
Visit the Twyfelfontein area with walks to view the ancient Bushman rock engravings, Organ Pipes, and the Burnt Mountain.  Camp at the foot of the Brandberg Mountain. Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals)

Day 10: Swakopmund
On our way to Swakopmund, we visit Cape Cross Seal Colony.  Time is spent at leisure to enjoy the charm of this old town.(optional activities on offer -at own expense). Overnight accommodation in Guest House. (All meals, excluding dinner).

Day 11: Gamsberg Mountain via Moon Landscape- Star Gazing
Driving via the Moon landscape.  At night we have the opportunity of viewing globular clusters and planets through a six-inch ZEISS APQ refractor with a ZEISS wide-field bino-viewer.   Standard Mobile Safari  (All meals)

Day 12 & 13: Namib Desert - Sossusvlei
Journey south to the heart of the Namib Desert.  Early departure for Sossusvlei stopping to enjoy the changing colours of the world’s highest sand dunes. Morning spent walking amongst the dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.   En route back to camp we enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon.  Standard Mobile Safari(All meals).

Day 14: Windhoek
We arrive in Windhoek in the early afternoon.  (Breakfast only)

Price Includes: 11 nights camping with camp bed, mattress, sleeping bag and small pillow all meals when camping. 2 nights hotel / guest house accommodation in Swakopmund and Windhoek with breakfast, transportation, safaris and entrance fees. (min 2 pax)
