Come and join us on this unique Discover the South West including Indian Pacific tour including the Margaret River, Rottnest Island and Indian Pacific. We spend 3 nights in Margaret River region, giving us time to immerse ourself in 4 days of culinary lunches and up to 9 wine tastings. We also stay for 2 nights at the luxurious Samphire Resort on Rottnest Island with time to explore the island. We wrap up this unique tour with one of the “Great train journey’s of the world” on board the Indian Pacific across the Nullarbor back to Sydney in a Gold Class Cabin.

Itinerary

Day 1: 21 May 2022 – Perth
On arrival into Perth, you will be met and transferred to the Pan Pacific Hotel for overnight. With scenic vistas of the Swan River, our five-star luxury hotel offers rooms and suites for a seamless business or leisure stay all located within a short distance from Perth’s CBD and main entertainment precincts. Our light-filled Deluxe Room comes with a selection of pillows and an ensuite bathroom, providing the perfect setting for a rejuvenating stay. Guests can enjoy breakfast in Hotel Restaurant.

This evening we join our fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.
Pan Pacific Hotel Perth – (D)

Day 2: 22 May 2022 – Margaret River
After a leisure breakfast we will depart the hotel and travel towards the Margaret River Region. Our first stop at the popular holiday town of Busselton to see the world’s second-longest jetty, stretching 1.8km into the turquoise waters of Geographe Bay. This heritage listed Jetty is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Time to grab a coffee and then continue onto “Lentedal Winery” for a wine tasting and leisurely lunch. Lentedal Winery, nestled close to Busselton and Dunsborough, offers a unique, family friendly cellar door experience in the Margaret River region, the first vines were planted, to produce quality, affordable wines and to bring a humble, lasting experience to our customers. After lunch continue onto Flametree Wines for a tasting. Our journey takes us onto Naturaliste where we check into our Studio Villa at the luxurious appointed Bunker Bay Resort. Our home away form home for the next 3 nights features spacious open plan rooms with combined bedroom and living area, king-size bed, polished floorboards and limestone feature walls, marble en-suite bathroom with deep soaking bath and shower, cooktop, microwave, private furnished terrace with tranquil native garden views. Optional Tour: Tonight we have an optional cultural experience with Koomal Dreaming. This includes meeting local custodian Josh and learn about the deep connection the Wadandi people have to the Cape to Cape region, with a Welcome to Country, followed by an easy 2.5 kilometre walk around the tip of Cape Naturaliste, interpreting the flora and fauna of the seasonal landscape to you through the eyes of an indigenous custodian. You’ll be mesmerised by a live didgeridoo performance, storytelling and traditional fire-making , and a BBQ dinner accompanied by seasonal native food tastings and refreshments. Tour costs $155 per person

Day 3: 23 May 2022 – Margaret River
Breakfast at the resort before departing and exploring the region. First stop at Barnyard 1978. Here you can taste seven varieties of pure, unprocessed and deliciously sweet honey straight from the beehive. Next we arrive at “Fermoy Estate” for a wine tasting then onto Glenarty Road Farm for their “Feast”, a culinary lunch experience! This relaxed and rustic farmhouse brings together Glenarty Road and Kerfuffle Wines, grass-fed meats, house-made charcuterie, seasonal produce and local goods, in a farm to table style feast. Later this afternoon we will visit either “Gabriel Chocolate” for afternoon tea and tastings. Dinner at Bunker Bay (own account).

Day 4: 24 May 2022 – Margaret River
Start the day with a leisurely breakfast at the White Elephant Cafe before we head into Margaret River town for a browse through the shops. Continue onto the famous “Vasse Felix” for a tasting and a charcuterie and cheese board. On our way back to the resort we stop at “Evans and Tate” for a tasting and a visit to “Millers Ice Cream”. Afternoon at leisure to relax at the resort and enjoy some drinks around the pool. Dinner at Bunker Bay (own account).

Day 5: 25 May 2022 – Margaret River
Breakfast at Bunker Bay then checkout. Today we visit the “Margaret River Distilling Company” for a quick Gin tasting then continue onto lunch and tastings at the award winning “Wills Domain”.

In 2019/17/15/14 the restaurant received awards for Best Regional Restaurant & 2019 Best Regional Chef by the Western Australian Good Food Guide. Also this year the restaurant received a place in the top 15 list “Most Delicious Restaurants” in Australia according to “Delicious” magazine, and a coveted “Hall of Fame” position in John Lethlean’s “The Australian HOT 50”. The restaurant overlooks the rolling vine-covered hills of Yallingup and the seasonal, fine dining menu has a focus on sustainable, wild harvested produce by Head Chef, Seth James. The onsite gardens grow much of our produce and offer a rare insight into the depth and lengths our kitchen takes to showcase a unique, stylish and innovative approach.

Travelling back, we stop in Bunbury for afternoon tea before arriving back into Fremantle in the late afternoon. Overnight accommodation at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle.

Day 6: 26 May 2022 – Rottnest Island
Breakfast at the hotel this morning then we head off to Rottnest Island for 2 nights at the luxurious Samphire Resort in a Beach Lane King Suite including breakfast daily.

Just a short ferry ride from Fremantle we land at Rottnest Island. This beautiful island offers 45kms of walking trails, a fascinating cultural heritage and amazing native wildlife, including a colony of New Zealand fur seals and around 10,000 adorable quokkas. Swim, snorkel, hike, bike or just laze on the sand – this pocket-sized paradise really does have something for everyone.

Samphire Resort – Grab a towel and head down the lane to the beach or find yourself on a path to your own island adventure. Our Beach Lane rooms are easily accessed while maintaining privacy through your own protected terrace. The rooms offer a private terrace for that morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Samphire Rottnest will encourage guests to immerse themselves in the elements, feel the sand between their toes and become blissfully at one with the salt air and the unique, native beauty of Rottnest Island.

Beyond the in-room amenities, Samphire Rottnest includes dining options that form a key part of the experience including an indoor/outdoor dining hub, Beach Club, lounge and poolside offerings, delivering a communal place for guests to enjoy.

Day 7: 27 May 2022 – Rottnest Island
Leisurely breakfast at the resort included. Today we have included a 90 minute Discover Rottnest Island Exploration Tour of the island and lunch at Thomsons. Or you might prefer to do you own thing – its your time to enjoy the island.

Day 8: 28 May 2022 – Swan Valley / Perth
Leisurely breakfast and then ferry back to the Fremantle. Board our private vehicle for a scenic day tour of the Swan Valley. Stop at Sanford’s Wines, one of WA’s oldest Wineries for a tasting and then onto Mandoon Estate for lunch and wine pairing. Free time in the historic Guildford, time to explore the beautiful street with shops and galleries. Stop a the Chocolate factory for a tasting before arriving into Perth for an overnight at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

Day 9: 29 May 2022 – Indian Pacific Journey
A journey aboard the iconic Indian Pacific will whisk you between Perth, Adelaide and Sydney in comfort and style. On this spectacular 4352km transcontinental crossings between the Indian and Pacific oceans, enjoy 4 days/3 nights with all-inclusive meals, fine wines, and beverages. A regionally-inspired menu paired with a selection of local wines and wonderful off train experiences in Kalgoorlie, Rawlinna, Cook, Adelaide, Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains.

Your journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean begins as you pull away from the platform in Perth mid-morning. Settle into your comfortable Gold Twin cabin and get to know the creature comforts of life onboard. Enjoy a modern Australian lunch as you glide through the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. After a relaxing afternoon onboard, enjoy a three-course dinner prior to your late evening arrival in the wild west township of Kalgoorlie.

Day 10: 30 May 2022 – Indian Pacific Journey
Awake to the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to watch the sunrise. Be captivated by the big blue skies and ancient stillness of the desert landscape, broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos. Waiting ahead is the charm of the once-thriving Nullarbor railway community – now ghost town – of Cook. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world. Another mouth-watering dinner is followed by relaxed conversation in the lounge before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 11: 31 May 2022 – Indian Pacific Journey
On arrival in elegant Adelaide, you have the choice of a walking tour (seasonal), a behind-the-scenes tour of the world famous Adelaide Oval, or a coach tour of the city sights. This evening you’ll enjoy a stop at Broken Hill, Australia’s silver capital and home to a unique artistic community.

Day 12: 01 June – Sydney
Wake in the picturesque Blue Mountains. See the majestic Three Sisters at Echo Point and the views at Jamison Valley before completing your journey on our chartered NSW rail service (fully hosted by our staff) into Sydney Central Station. Alternatively, stay on board the Indian Pacific to travel directly to Sydney.
