Day 1: Adelaide to Mt. Remarkable National Park
Headed north, grab a coffee in the small town of Port Wakefield before exploring the beautiful beaches around Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula. In the seaside town of Port Germein, stroll along South Australia’s longest jetty, built-in 1881. Journey onwards to Mt. Remarkable National Park in the Southern Flinders Ranges to set up camp for the night. Today, travel approximately 350km (4 hours). Mt. Remarkable does have shower and toilet facilities.

Day 2: Mt. Remarkable National Park and Eyre Peninsula
Wake up to the sounds of native birdlife, and after breakfast embark on the first hike of the tour exploring Davey’s Gully to take in stunning views across the Spencer Gulf. See some impressive silo art in Kimba and after a quick pitstop for lunch, head towards the Eyre Peninsula. Spot dolphins surfing the waves at Venus Bay and explore Talia Caves before testing out your sandboarding skills in some epic dunes. Arrive at our home base – Coodlie Park Farm Retreat, for a BBQ feast and to share stories with travellers from our other tour. Spend the night in a swag hut in our eco-campground. Today, travel approximately 450km (5 hours). Sleep in a swag hut and shower and toilet facilities are available. Please note, tomorrow you may be swapping buses and joining the other group that is travelling from Perth to Adelaide.

Day 3: Baird Bay and Mikkira Station
This morning it’s time for one of the tour highlights, swimming with the playful wild sea lions and majestic dolphins on a 3-hour cruise in the sheltered waters of Baird Bay. Baird Bay Eco Tours operates this optional experience, and at only $180, it is an experience to treasure forever. Those who choose to stay on land will travel to Point Labatt Conservation Park, the only place on the mainland where Australian seal pups can be spotted learning to swim, play and rest on the beach. After lunch travel to Elliston for a short coastal drive before heading south towards our campsite at Mikkira Station near Port Lincoln. Mikkira is home to around 170 wild koalas who call the many Manna Gum trees home. Get that perfect koala selfie, and spot lots of kangaroos and emus too. Travel 400kms today (4.5 hours) and Mikkira has shower and toilet facilities.

Day 4: Port Lincoln and Mikkira Station
Today you are offered two very different itineraries. Those who love aquatic wildlife can choose the full day optional experience of coming face-to-face with the majestic, Great White Shark. From staying dry in a revolutionary glass viewing aqua sub, to the more extreme option of entering the cage. Prices range from $350 to $564 depending on your choice from two operators. Please see ‘Optional Extras’ for more information. Those staying on dry land will be exploring the highlights of Port Lincoln and the surrounding area. From rugged Whalers Way to the footprint-free white sandy beaches of Coffin Bay National Park. You will also have some free time in ‘Australia’s Seafood Capital’ to grab a coffee or chill on the foreshore. After picking up the rest of the group at around 6 pm, it will be back to the friendly koalas at Mikkira Station to camp for a second night. Drive time today is about 2.5 hours unless you are doing the sharks experience in which case it is only 1 hour.

Day 5: Port Lincoln to Flinders Ranges
Surfing is a way of life in Australia, so today, pull on a wetsuit for a two-hour learn-to-surf lesson. The turquoise and calm water of Fisheries Bay is the perfect place to Hang 10! Those not wanting to surf will be able to relax, swim or explore. After lunch, travel back into the magnificent Flinders Ranges, this time to another part to explore the pristine Warren Gorge. Keep your eyes peeling for yellow-footed rock wallabies, which are bouncing back from near-extinction. Roll out your swag for the last time and sleep under the millions of stars of the Milky Way. Today travel approximately 400 km (4 hours) and bush camp at Warren Gorge, which has a toilet but no shower facilities.

Day 6: Flinders Ranges to Adelaide
Embark on the last hike of the tour at Dutchmans Stern which features incredible views over the Southern Flinders Ranges. South Australia is well known for its world-class wine, and the last stop of the tour will be for lunch and wine tasting in the picturesque Clare Valley. Cheers to that. Drive time today is about 5 hours, and this overland adventure ends on arrival into Adelaide. Although there are no formal activities planned, it is usual for the group to get together and reflect on the adventure over a few drinks and meal (at own expense).
