Day 3: Gorilla Trek
Morning departure to Yatouga by boat Via Point Sitatunga to visit the Gorilla de Loango project. Opened to tourism in 2016, this project supervised by the Max Planck Institute will allow you to penetrate the intimacy of the Atananga group, led by it’s silver back Kamaya. Group of 4 customers maximum authorized, the visit is limited to one hour. After lunch, undertake a boat safari on Akaka River, then return to Camp.

The Akaka area constitutes the extreme south of Loango National Park. A remote part, closed to population, this large forest between rivers, floodplain and rainforest, will offer you the opportunity to discover the equatorial forest as it was before human influence. The rainy season is certainly not the best season for safaris on Akaka, few large mammals, but these large forests will allow you to discover not only one of the wildest and richest area of Central Africa, but also observe species absent from coastal forests (monkeys, birds, reptiles, etc.).
Overnight at N’Dola Tented Camp

Day 4: Loango National Park
Enjoy breakfast before enjoying a Forest Walk. Discovery of the coastal forest of Loango North. These forests, admittedly less rich than in the Akaka area, remain in the rainy season the resting place for all the fauna during the hot hours of the day. The circuits vary from month to month, depending on the fruiting of the trees. On the program, monkeys, duikers, elephants….

After lunch, enjoy a 4×4 safari at Louri North. This is THE spectacular SAFARI during the rainy season. This circuit along the ocean will allow you to observe elephants and buffalos along the beach for which Loango is famous, with unforgettable face-to-face encounters. The elephants frequenting this area are known for their atypical behavior due to the consumption of Iboga, the hallucinogenic plant dominant in the area; used in traditional ceremonies.
Overnight at N’Dola Tented Camp
