Day 1: Australia – Johannesburg

Depart Australia, via Perth, on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Day 2: Johannesburg to Nairobi

On arrival into Johannesburg connect with your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Southern Sun Mayfair for your welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Nairobi – Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater

Take the morning shuttle across the Kenya/Tanzania border by your Guide. You will arrive in Arusha in time for lunch. After lunch we will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and check in to your lodge in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm house.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

Today we will descend some 600 metres to the floor of Ngorongoro Crater for a day tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephant, the lake area, where we may see flamingos and the open savannah, where the lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served at a scenic spot in the crater. Return to the lodge late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Breakfast in the lodge then check out and drive to the Serengeti National Park to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.  Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Today we spend the day in the Serengeti National Park. One of Africa’s most famous wilderness areas and at certain times of the year, home to the awe inspiring wildebeest and zebra migration. To maximize wildlife viewing, we will carry a picnic lunch with us, and spend the full day in the park. This enormous park supports every variety of African animal imaginable – from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the herbivores they prey on. At the end of our fantastic day of game viewing we return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park

Breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive to Lake Manyara, a soda lake lying in the Rift Valley. Lunch at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. Afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, home of the tree-climbing lions, varied landscapes, including jungles, swamps and savannah and a large variety of wildlife, including giraffe, zebra, elephant, gazelle, bushbuck, hippopotami, monkeys and about 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast we drive to Arusha for lunch, and then continue to the Kenya/Tanzania border at Namanga. We clear border formalities and drive on to Amboseli National Park. Check in to the park for a game drive en-route to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park

Magnificent views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro greet visitors from anywhere in this park. The park takes its name from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”. Some of the largest populations of elephants in Africa live here and on some mornings over 600 have been counted in the swamps. Today’s game drives offer the chance to track lion, cheetah, wildebeest and the rare black rhino.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru National Park

We depart after breakfast and drive via Nairobi, to Lake Nakuru National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided along the way. We enter the park in time for our evening game drive.

Day 11: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Drive via Narok to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. We will have Lunch and an afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Day 12: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Spend the day in the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara is home to some 95 species of mammal, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason that visitors to the Mara seldom miss out on seeing the big five. There are however many other species to keep us entertained including hippo’s, cheetah, Grant’s gazelle, impala, topi, Coke’s hartebeest, giraffe, Roan antelope and wildebeest.

Day 13: Safari Ends

Today, after breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi for your late flight to Johannesburg, connecting with your overnight flight to Australia.
