Kadizora Camp – Okavango Delta

Kadizora Camp is situated between the Vumbura River and Selinda Spillway. It lies in the remote northern part of the Okavango Delta overlooking a panoramic seasonal floodplain. Giant Marulas, Sycamore figs, Jackalberries and Rain trees provide a canopy of shade throughout the camp. The bar, lounge, reception and dining area form a horseshoe shape around the sandy fire pit. From there, a decked walkway leads you to an inviting swimming pool with a view over the floodplain.

The Camps accommodation consists of 8 luxury tents and 4 standard tents. The tents are spacious and furnished in a classic style ensuring that time between activities is spent relaxing comfortably.

Kadizora is the only camp in the Okavango Delta to offer hot air ballooning. You have the option, of booking an early morning hot air balloon flight to soar over the Delta at sunrise and view game from above.

Kadizora Camp also facilitates open vehicle safaris, walking safaris and boating. Mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions provide a fabulous and traditional way to explore the meandering water channels. Float quietly amongst the water-lilies and experience a spectacular bird lovers’ paradise.

There is the option to arrange a day trip to a traditional village. Visit the church, the clinic, local Primary school and meet family members of the camp staff. Fishing is available in season.

Kadizora Camp truly offers the ultimate Okavango Delta experience, with a wide range of activities, a beautiful location, diverse wildlife and warm, local hospitality.

The Camps accommodation consists of 8 luxury tents and 4 standard tents’ with either twin or a conversion to a double bed. Each tent is well-positioned for ultimate privacy and seclusion. All tents feature a luxurious en-suite bathroom and outdoor decking, both with spectacular views for a true ‘out of Africa’ experience.

Custom made tents form the backdrop of the communal area with a comfortable lounge, reception and dining room which open onto a central deck and fire pit.

The bar at Kadizora Camp is on a raised deck with a panoramic view of the floodplain. Enjoy a picturesque Delta sunset, watching the colours intensify long after the sun has set, with your favourite sun-downer.

The inviting camp fire is the focal point from dawn to dusk, and it is the perfect place to chat about the day’s adventures.

A wooden walkway leads you out from the main deck to the swimming pool where you can relax on a sun lounger before the next activity. In the evenings, the pool deck is a wonderful viewpoint for star gazing.

We thrive on bush adventures and offer a host of exciting Safari activities! Kadizora camp is the only area in the Okavango Delta to offer hot air ballooning. It is available on request during the peak season April – September.

Try out a traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) as you glide through the Delta water channels. This provides an opportunity to view the aquatic wildlife from a close vantage point. The crystal, clear waters are filtered by large papyrus reed beds and the waters are clean enough to drink.

An open Land Cruiser is your vehicle for game drives as you explore some of the 120,000-hectare concession. Drive through semi-desert sands, dense Mopani woodlands and marshy floodplains. The area is home to a vast number of species including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, red lechwe, impala, honey badgers, hippos and crocodile, to name a few. The region is home to countless resident and migratory birds and birdwatching is particularly favourable when the Delta waters arrive in February and dry up in late September.

Our knowledgeable guides will take you on a walking safari through the bush. Follow elephant paths and learn how to identify the tracks of many wild animals. See how animal traps were made and learn about traditional bush skills and medicines.

From the safety of a motorboat, you can see crocodiles basking in the sun and pods of hippo wallowing in the lagoon. Your skipper will navigate the waters to ensure the best bird sightings possible. In the fishing season you can go out in the boat and try your hand at fishing with spinners – typically you may catch pike, barbel (catfish) and bream. The Camp cooks will fillet your bream catch on your return and prepare it for your next meal!
