Itinerary

Day 1: Thursday, 01 April 2021 – Daintree Mossman (D)
On arrival into Cairns, meet your driver at the baggage carousel and transfer by private vehicle to Silky Oaks Lodge. The driving time is approximately 90 minutes.

The 95 kilometre Daintree region starts at Mossman Gorge, an hour’s drive north of Cairns, across the Daintree River, through the rainforest of Daintree National Park to Cape Tribulation and along the Bloomfield Track towards Cooktown.

The Daintree Rainforest is believed to be one of the three oldest in the world with unique plants and animals found nowhere else, a Paradise for bird-watchers and nature-lovers.

A must-do on any visitors list with its ancient rainforests, stunning valleys, superb beaches, spectacular forest-clad mountains, clear streams, magnificent rivers and Aboriginal heritage.

Day 2: Friday, 02 April 2021 – Daintree Mossman (B, L, D)
Meet your representative and depart on your full day private Ngana Kulkinga Dungay sightseeing tour.

Travel through Kuku Yalanji country with your local Aboriginal guide and learn about the culturally significant sights and local attractions between Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation including World Heritage Daintree rainforest. Discover the amazing relationships the Kuku Yalanji still have with their land and experience these diverse environments. Get an insight into the history, culture and traditions of the local Aboriginal people and the area. Walk through the world’s oldest living rainforest, see natural wonders, the majestic Daintree river, and where the rainforest meets the reef, explore coastal habitats learning about the environment, different foods and medicines utilised from nature. Sample some bush tucker and swim at one of the pristine freshwater streams in the area before returning to your accommodation.

Day 3: Saturday, 03 April 2021 – Daintree Mossman (B, D)
Today is at your leisure to relax or partake in some of the inclusive activities offered by the lodge.

Day 4: Sunday, 04 April 2021 – Daintree Mossman-Port Douglas (B)
Port Douglas Australia is just an hour’s drive north from Cairns via a spectacular coastal road that is surrounded by forest and the Coral Sea. The climate is seductive. Balmy days dissolve into tropical evenings with velvet starry skies.

It is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage listed jewels exist; the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Refresh, restore and revitalise, in the aquamarine reef waters of the Coral Sea, the crystal creeks of Mossman Gorge, and the palm fringed golden sands of Port Douglas’ Four Mile Beach.

Discover the breathtaking northern tropics of Australia through pristine Daintree Rainforest walks and safaris, diving and snorkelling the reef and sailing the waterways. Be inspired by the amazing array of nature and wildlife and glorious simplicity. The tropics are a feast for the senses; the sights, sounds and tastes; you will never want to leave!

Meet your driver in the lobby and transfer by private vehicle to Port Douglas.

Day 5: Monday, 05 April 2021 – Port Douglas (B, L)
Meet your representative in the lobby and shuttle transfer to Reef Marina in Port Douglas to depart on your full day scheduled/shared snorkelling and diving day on Agincourt Reef. Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style. Made up of four separate reefs that face out to the South Pacific Ocean, Agincourt Reef is regarded as one of the most significant sites of this natural wonder. Explore rich, diverse coral gardens that help form these protective ocean walls, filled with hard and soft corals as well as the reef’s most iconic species such as sharks, stingrays, turtles, whales (in season), groupers and cods, maori wrasse and parrotfish. Enjoy the very best in comfort with spacious decks, day-bed style seating, air-conditioned saloons and submerged platforms, extending the width of the vessel, to allow for easy access to and from the water. On board, enjoy a delicious tropical buffet lunch, overlooking the sparkling water.

On return to Port Douglas, shuttle transfer to your hotel.

Please note: All snorkelling equipment including lycra suits, wetsuits, prescription masks and flotation devices are included. Diving is additional and can include or exclude gear hire. Bring a beach towel, swimwear, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.

Day 6: Tuesday, 06 April 2021 – Port Douglas (B)
Today is at your leisure to relax or independently explore what the Tropical North has to offer.

Day 7: Wednesday, 07 April 2021 – Port Douglas (B)
Meet your driver and transfer by private vehicle to Cairns Airport for your onward flight.
