Itinerary:

8 October 2024 – Cairo
You will be met at Cairo International Airport by our representative, assisted with Visas, and processed through Customs and Immigration.

Transfer to the luxurious Marriott Mena House in Cairo for 3 nights’ accommodation, where you can experience the wondrous beauty of the Pyramids right from your room.

Enjoy a Welcome Dinner at the hotel.

Mena House has played host to kings and emperors, Heads of State and celebrities. The Mena House located 700 meters from these wonders of the ancient world offers unmatched views of the pyramids. You can gaze upon the magnificence of the pyramids from your rooms at sunrise and sunset.

9 October 2024 – Cairo
Depart on a private full day tour to the Pyramids of Giza with your dedicated Egyptologist.

Marvel at one of the last remaining Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramids of Giza. These massive monuments are Royal Tombs dedicated to the Pharaohs and were built over 4500 years ago to last an eternity Dynasty.

We have an opportunity to enter the interior of one of these mysterious stone towers.

Admire the Great Sphinx – with its head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. The Great Sphinx was carved out of a huge outcrop of limestone and built to guard the Pyramids of Giza.

Spend some time at the ancient cities of Memphis and Sakkara. Lunch at Local Restaurant.

Return to our hotel for overnight.

10 October 2024 – Cairo
Depart on a private full day tour with your dedicated Egyptologist to Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, Egyptian Museum and take a guided walk in Moez Street

Grand Egyptian Museum: Egypt will unveil the largest archaeological museum complex on the planet, which has been three decades in the making. We have plenty of time to explore this amazing site and view a huge collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, as well as a visit to the Mummies room.

We have time to wander down Moez Street. 1km long pedestrian street, and to quote the UN, it has “the greatest concentration of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world”.

Lunch at Local Restaurant.

Return to the hotel for overnight.

11 October 2024 – Aswan
Early departure and transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan via Abu Simbel.

Fly from Cairo to Abu Simbel – private tour to visit the rock-cut temple of Ramesses ll on the west bank of the Nile at Abu Simbel, the greatest of seven rock-cut temples which the king constructed in Nubia and the most impressive of all the Egyptian monument in the area.

After the tour fly to Aswan and transfer to the 5-star Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan Hotel for afternoon at leisure and overnight.

Step into the legendary site where King Fouad once entertained, and Agatha Christie sipped cocktails. In the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile, opposite Elephantine Island, the majestic hotel sits on a pink granite cliff overlooking the world’s longest river. This ravishing hotel with its legendary guest list of royals and dignitaries is both ideal for romantic getaways, and a perfect venue for small summits and corporate meetings.

12 October 2024 – Sanctuary Nile Adventurer
After a leisurely breakfast we transfer to our 5-star deluxe Nile cruise boat – The Sanctuary Nile Adventurer, moored in a private dock in Aswan, where you will enjoy a welcome with drums and flutes. Check into your Bridge Deck Cabins for 4 nights of luxury,

Lunch will be served on board.

This afternoon you will have the chance to take a ride on a felucca (a typical Egyptian sailboat) around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum (weather permitting, life jackets will be provided).

Afternoon tea will be served in the lounge while you enjoy the sounds of an Oud trio. Tonight, you will be greeted by your Boat Manager as you enjoy a selection of canapés with complimentary Egyptian wine and local beer. A gourmet dinner will be served on board.

13 October 2024 – Sanctuary Nile Adventurer
A breakfast buffet will be served on board, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. This will be followed by a visit to the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples, and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk.

Enjoy lunch, while you cruise to Kom Ombo.

Afternoon tea will be served on board before you visit the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo – dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek.

Tonight, a delicious dinner is served followed by a movie night on board.

14 October 2024 – Sanctuary Nile Adventurer
A breakfast buffet will be served on board while the boat sails to Edfu.

Spend the morning visiting Edfu Temple.

Following the morning’s sightseeing, the boat will sail to Luxor.

Lunch will be served on board after which you will also have the chance to take part in an Egyptian cooking lesson.

Following afternoon tea onboard, your Egyptologist will guide you around the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun.

Tonight will be an “Egyptian Night” costume party for all guests, with a chance to dress up in traditional Egyptian “galabeyya”. Dinner will be a lavish buffet of Egyptian specialties, followed by oriental music and dancing for everyone.

15 October 2024 – Sanctuary Nile Adventurer
Breakfast is served on board.

This morning, visit the Valley of the Kings. You will have the chance to visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens, and visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back to the river Nile, you will pass by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn.

After lunch, your Egyptologist will guide you around Temple of Karnak.

Return your boat where afternoon tea will be served in the lounge.

Tonight’s entertainment will be a gala dinner, with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine followed by a Dervish Show and belly dancer performance.

16 October 2024 – Luxor
A buffet breakfast will be served on board, before we transfer from boat to the luxurious Winter Palace in Luxor. Built in 1886 on the banks of the Nile and surrounded by century-old Royal Gardens, Sofitel Winter Palace Luxor Hotel overlooks the Nile and the West Bank Necropolis.

We can spend the day at leisure in Luxor and enjoy a Farewell Dinner at hotel.

  • Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea along with macarons and scones in the Victorian Lounge of the Winter Palace. King Farouk, the last King of Egypt, enjoyed afternoon tea in this opulent salon, which features a majestic crystal chandelier and pink oriental rugs. (Optional)
  • Taste a cup of hibiscus tea on the Nile Terrace of this historic hotel, and take in the sunset over the Nile River and the West Bank. Agatha Christie was inspired by the magnificent views as she wrote Death on the Nile during her stay at the Winter Palace. (optional)

17 October 2024 – End of Itinerary
Leisurely breakfast at the hotel before our transfer to the airport for our flight to Cairo.

All good things must come to an end as we say our goodbyes here in Cairo.
