We invite you to join us on this small escorted group safari to immerse yourself in an extraordinary bush experience in Australia’s Top End combined with a luxurious cruise around the Southern Kimberley region on board the Kimberley Quest II – a 25 metre vessel that has been designed for relaxing and exploring the Kimberley coastline featuring only 9 cabins and a maximum of 18 guests.

And for those with a little more time join us on our Ningaloo Reef extension to uncover the spectacular beauty of Sal Salis Reef Camp.

Itinerary

Day 1: 19 October 2022 – Darwin (D)
On arrival into Darwin you will be met and transferred to the H on Smith Hotel for overnight accommodation including Breakfast. This stylish property offers 186 rooms and suites providing guests with modern comforts such as crisp linens, luxurious pillow top beds and deluxe bathroom amenities. Most rooms offer spectacular ocean or sweeping city views, with other comforts including complimentary high-speed internet and a rooftop gym. Meet later this evening with your group for dinner.

Day 2: 20 October 2022 – Bamurru Plains Camp (BLD)
After breakfast we will depart by road driving 200km east on a sealed road (approx 3 hours to the property entrance) to our destination Bamurru Plains. It’s time to immerse yourself in an extraordinary bush experience of the coastal floodplains of Australia’s Top End. Bamurru Plains is a safari lodge with exclusive access to 300 km of floodplains and savanna woodland on the Mary River, on the edge of Kakadu National Park. A profusion of bird and wildlife are at the doorstep of this unique bush experience that exudes ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ and brings a touch of style to the discovery of a remote and beautiful wilderness – Our home for the next 3 nights. All meals included.

Guests sleep inside 10 rustic-chic bungalow tents—which have doors, not zippers—decked out with plush beds and spacious bathrooms. Close-to-nature intimacy is provided by mesh walls—inhabitants can see out, but the outside cannot see in—allowing the sounds of the wild to permeate each tent. A connection to the land is heightened by the lack of technology: no TVs, no cell reception, no Wi-Fi.”

Days 3 & 4: 21-22 October 2022 – Bamurru Plains Camp (BLD)
The wildlife on show at Bamurru Plains is some of the most impressive in Australia. Our guides will reveal it to you on fascinating excursions across the property. Our expert field guides are the key to unlocking Bamurru’s wild secrets when you explore the property via airboat, open top safari drive, walks, quad bikes and more.

Optional safari: Day trip to Kakadu National Park – Just a short hop by light aircraft across the river systems that separate Bamurru Plains from Kakadu brings you to the heart of this country. Rock art galleries reveal stories of Aboriginal people and their ancient culture. Textures of colours, vistas across savannah woodlands and floodplains provide a sense of the spirituality of this ancient landscape – $495 per person.

Day 5: 23 October 2022 – Broome (B)
After breakfast we return to Darwin in time for our flight to Broome (not included).

On arrival into Broome you will be met and transferred to the Kimberley Sands Resort on Cable Beach for two nights accommodation including breakfast. Kimberley Sands Resort is in a peaceful bush setting just a short stroll from the turquoise blue waters and white sands of iconic Cable Beach. Relax and unwind in our Maxima Pool or in our Meditative Gardens. Dine or enjoy a cocktail in The Sands Restaurant & Bar. Have a workout in our guest gym, take a dip in our outdoor pool and browse through our boutique gift shop. Our 4 star guest rooms offer a comfortable, relaxing and welcoming environment with modern facilities. Choose from a studio, to a one or two bedroom suite.

Day 6: 24 October 2022 – Broome (B)
Day at leisure in Broome to explore and enjoy the many activities on offer.

Day 7: 25 October 2022 – Board Kimberley Quest – 3 night Cruise (BLD)
We depart Broome today and our Quest begins with a transfer to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm located on the Dampier Peninsular. On your arrival, you will be transferred to the Kimberley Quest II, where you will be welcomed aboard by your captain and crew. Enjoy lunch whilst crossing King Sound, cruising through the thousand islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago; this is your first taste of the Kimberley. Cool off with a refreshing swim in one of many Kimberley freshwater pools, followed by a scenic tender excursion. This evening you can witness one of the spectacular Kimberley sunsets.

Kimberley Quest II – The Kimberley Quest II is a 25 metre vessel that has been designed for relaxing and exploring the Kimberley coastline, its custom design allows us to visit areas many other Kimberley cruises simply cannot reach. Whilst on board guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor alfresco areas, a refreshing dip in the spa and gourmet cuisine prepared by our on-board chef. Cruising with a maximum of 18 guests our personalised service and attention to every detail means you will enjoy the amazing surrounds in complete comfort and luxury..

3 nights: On board Kimberley Quest II – FB

Day 8: 26 October 2022 – Board Kimberley Quest – 3 night Cruise (BLD)
TALBOT BAY, DUGONG BAY & KINGFISHER ISLANDS
This morning will find us exploring Talbot Bay, home to one of the icons of the Kimberley coast; the spectacular Horizontal Falls. Take an exhilarating ride through this natural phenomenon and wonder at the amazing rock formations of Cyclone Creek. In and around Dugong Bay, we take a scenic tender excursion and cool off with a refreshing swim in one of the freshwater pools. Later in the day you will have your first taste of fishing for Giant Trevally, Mackerel, Tuna and Queenfish at the Kingfisher Islands.

Day 9: 27 October 2022 – Board Kimberley Quest – 3 night Cruise (BLD)
MONTGOMERY REEF, STRICKLAND BAY
This morning, we cruise towards the amazing Montgomery Reef, which covers more than 300km2, making it Australia’s largest inshore reef. Watch as the tide falls right before your eyes, creating a spectacular waterfall effect. Take a tender ride to view many marine species, including turtles and sea birds. Later we explore Strickland Bay visiting old pearlers graves and joining our guides in search of Threadfin Salmon and other species. Before unwinding on the sun deck capturing one last sunset aboard Kimberley Quest II.

Day 10: 28 October 2022 – Board Kimberley Quest – 3 night Cruise (BLD)
CYGNET BAY – BROOME
Today, after one last breakfast, we disembark Kimberley Quest II. Followed by a Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm tour, offering you a rare glimpse into the life of an operational pearl farm. This experience will leave you with a deeper understanding of what makes this place unique! Here we wave goodbye with a transfer back to Broome for overnight accommodation at the Kimberley Sands Resort.

After breakfast this morning we say farewell to our fellow travellers and transfer to the airport.

Day 12: 30 October 2022 – Perth to Exmouth – Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp (BLD)
Transfer to the airport for our flight to Exmouth (excluded) On arrival you will be met and transferred by road (70kms) to the luxurious Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp. Located on the North West Cape, south of Exmouth, in the Cape Range National Park. The tents are situated just 50 metres back from the beach amongst the low-lying coastal dunes and with the largest World Heritage-listed coral reef in the world just metres away. Two kilometres behind the camp lies the limestone range of the Cape Range National Park, dissected by spectacular gorges, our home for the next three nights.

3 nights: Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp – FB

Days 13 & 14: 31 October & 01 November 2022 – Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef Safari Camp (BLD)
Perched on platforms over the dunes, your wilderness tent offers uninterrupted coastal views enjoyed from your deck or inviting hammock. Inside, tents are spacious, understated and comfortable. Your ample bed of handcrafted jarrah is dressed in fresh linen, your eco-ensuite bathroom comes with organic shampoo and native herb soap, drinking water and, of course, a daily cleaning service.

Sal Salis provides a sanctuary to explore immediate natural wonders of the world, with comfort at every step. What lies before you is a ‘holiday of all holidays’. Ningaloo Reef ignites something different in everyone. One day, you’re relaxed out on your tent’s shaded deck, encapsulated in a book, only pausing to count kangaroos. The next, the ocean’s calling you out to swim with… let’s see… how about humpback whales? This is completely your time… in a place like you’ve never imagined.

During your stay the following is included – all meals and drinks, use of non-motorised water sports equipment including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkelling equipment, and wetsuits, Daily guided activities such as walks in Cape Range National Park, reef snorkelling tours, kayaking excursions.

Unfortunately we have to say goodbye to this little piece of heaven today and return to Perth (flight excluded).
