Itinerary

Day 1:Victoria Falls

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist with the customs and immigration procedures. From there, you will be transferred to the A’Zambezi River Lodge, where you will check in and settle into your accommodation. Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River, the lodge offers serene views and a comfortable retreat amidst nature. Take the afternoon to relax and enjoy the surroundings, perhaps taking a stroll along the riverbank or enjoying a refreshing swim in the lodge’s pool. In the evening, you can indulge in a delicious dinner at the lodge’s restaurant, sampling local flavors and specialties.

Day 2:Victoria Falls

After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, prepare for an exciting day exploring the wonders of Victoria Falls. Your guided tour will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the falls themselves. Known locally as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (the Smoke that Thunders), Victoria Falls is one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world, offering breathtaking views and a powerful display of nature’s force. Spend the morning marveling at the various viewpoints along the falls, capturing photos of the misty rainbows and listening to the thunderous roar of the water cascading into the gorge below. After the tour, you will have free time to explore the local crafts market for souvenirs or participate in optional activities such as helicopter rides over the falls or a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, where you can unwind with a drink and enjoy the scenic beauty as the day winds down.

Days 3 & 4:Chobe National Park

After breakfast, checkout from A’Zambezi River Lodge and prepare for your transfer to Kasane, Botswana. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a warm Botswana welcome from our team. Your guide will make you feel at home and brief you on the exciting adventures that lie ahead. Enjoy a snack pack before setting off on an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River, departing from Kasane. This cruise offers a unique perspective of the river’s wildlife, providing opportunities to spot elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.

After the boat cruise, we leave Kasane and begin our journey at a game drive pace, keeping an eye out for wildlife and birds as we head towards our campsite. Spend the first two nights camping in a pristine bush campsite near the Chobe River. Explore the river banks and surrounding floodplains on game drives, immersing yourself in the natural beauty and abundant wildlife of the Chobe National Park. The days will be filled with thrilling game drives, offering ample opportunities to witness the incredible biodiversity of this region. As the sun sets, relax around the campfire, sharing stories and enjoying the tranquility of the African wilderness.

Days 5 & 6:Savute

We head further south within Chobe National Park to the Savute region, where we will spend the next two nights camping at a pristine bush campsite. The landscape of Savute is known for its dramatic changes, which are influenced by the flowing or drying up of the Savute Channel. This dynamic environment offers a unique and ever-changing safari experience.

During your stay in Savute, you will explore the dry landscape on game drives, witnessing the area’s unique wildlife and natural beauty. In 2010, water from the Savute Channel reached the Marsh for the first time in three decades, transforming the region’s dynamics. During the long dry period, resident lions adapted by preying on elephants at isolated waterholes. The presence of water can dramatically alter these interactions, making each visit to Savute a unique adventure. Join us as we uncover the secrets of this fascinating region, experiencing firsthand the ever-evolving wonders of the Savute landscape.

Days 7 & 8:Khwai, Moremi Game Reserve

Following an early breakfast on Day 7, we pack up the camp and continue our journey to Khwai, enjoying a bush picnic lunch en route. The Khwai River forms the boundary between the Moremi Game Reserve and the local Khwai Community Area. Upon arrival, we set up camp at a picturesque campsite in the Khwai area, where we will spend the next two nights. This region is renowned for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, offering an authentic safari experience.

During your stay in Khwai, you will embark on a 2½-hour mokoro trip, gliding through the channels and lagoons in a traditional dug-out canoe. This serene activity allows you to explore the waterways at a relaxed pace, providing a unique perspective on the local flora and fauna. The mokoro trip offers an opportunity to see wildlife up close and to appreciate the tranquility of the Okavango Delta. In addition to the mokoro adventure, you’ll enjoy game drives through the Khwai area, where the rich biodiversity and scenic beauty will make your safari truly unforgettable.

Days 9 & 10:Moremi Game Reserve / Okavango Delta

For the final two nights of our safari, we camp in the Xakanaxa/Third Bridge area, a prime location within the Moremi Game Reserve. This region offers unparalleled opportunities to explore the diverse wilderness on game drives during the day. Covering around a third of the entire Okavango Delta ecosystem, Moremi Game Reserve spans approximately 5,000 square kilometers and is known for its rich wildlife and stunning landscapes.

During your stay, you will embark on exciting game drives, venturing into the heart of the reserve to witness its abundant wildlife and varied habitats. The Xakanaxa/Third Bridge area is particularly famous for its scenic beauty and high concentration of animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, and a plethora of bird species. As you explore the reserve, you’ll have the chance to capture unforgettable moments and immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of the Okavango Delta. Each day ends with a return to the campsite, where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of the African night.

Day 11:Maun

After a hearty breakfast on Day 11, embark on a short game drive, taking in the last sights and sounds of the African wilderness. Your guide will then drop you off at a bush airstrip, where you will meet your pilot for a stunning light aircraft scenic flight over the Okavango Delta and Chief’s Island. This aerial journey provides a fish eagle’s eye view of the intricate waterways, lush landscapes, and diverse wildlife that make this ecosystem so extraordinary.

As you soar above the Delta, marvel at the breathtaking vistas and capture the beauty of this unique region from a new perspective. The flight offers a perfect farewell to your safari adventure, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Botswana’s natural wonders. You will arrive in Maun around noon, giving you ample time for your ongoing flights and the next chapter of your journey.
