Kununurra to Kununurra
This morning you will be collected from Kununurra for a road transfer to El Questro for 2 nights at El Questro station. Afternoon at leisure to relax by the pool or enjoy the many activities available to you.
Staying at El Questro has something for everyone to complement their Kimberley experience. Located on the Pentecost River beside a peaceful water hole, El Questro The Station offers well-appointed rooms with Queen size beds, a single day bed, modern bathrooms, tea and coffee-making facilities and air conditioning, these rooms are family-friendly as well as perfect for those looking for a few extra comforts to make their time at El Questro relaxing and one to remember forever.
Day 2: El Questro
Day at leisure to enjoy the many activities on offer.
Day 3: Kununurra
Pickup from El Questro airport for Bungles Scenic flight, landing at the Bungles by 8:30am for a full day walking tour. Morning tea, picnic lunch and afternoon nibbles and drinks provided.
Dinner at Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge (2 nights)
The Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge is located in the heart of Purnululu National Park. The Lodge offers convenient access to the stunning beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range, and the breathtaking beauty of Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge, Echidna Chasm and Mini Palms Gorge.
Set in an idyllic bush setting giving you the opportunity to relax and appreciate the park’s tranquil beauty. The Superior ensuite safari tents are strategically placed near the main lodge facilities, yet still offer privacy. The Superior safari tents feature King or twin beds and luggage racks, private facilities and hot shower, flushing toilet, linen, doonas and pillows, and a verandah with chairs. (Triple share is available with 3rd person on a rollaway bed – extra costs apply).
Accommodation includes a three course dinner and cooked breakfast with open-air dining. The Lodge is licensed to sell alcohol. No BYO.
Enjoy relaxing around the camp fire in the evenings.
Day 4: Bungles Day Trek
Enjoy breakfast at the Wilderness Lodge followed by a 30min scenic helicopter flight over the Bungles range. Your guide will then take you on a 4WD and walking tour through mini palms gorge and Echidna Chasm.
Arrive back at your accommodation at dusk for Dinner at the Lodge and yarns around the fire.
Day 5: Argyle Diamond Mine and Lake Argyle Cruise
Enjoy your morning at your accommodation before your guide picks you up to take a scenic flight landing at Argyle Diamond Mine. Your Luridgii Tours custodian guide will take you on an informative mine tour of the home to the infamous pink diamond before joining a stunning sunset boat tour from South to North of Lake Argyle at sunset. Enjoy fossicking for zebra rocks on an island, a sunset swim and a glass of champagne. Transfer by bus back to your accommodation from Lake Argyle Village.
Kununurra Country Club Resort (2 nights)
Optional upgrade to Kimberley Green Lodge
Kununurra Country Club Resort is located in the town centre, just 1.9 mi from the Kununurra Airport. Onsite facilities include a swimming pool, entertainment deck patios and free onsite parking. Guests can enjoy a drink or meal at the onsite Kelly’s Bar & Grill. Each of the stylish rooms feature an open-plan living area offering a work desk, a refrigerator and a TV with free cable channels.
Day 6: Kununurra
Day at leisure to relax or enjoy the many activities available to you in Kununurra.
Day 7: Mitchell Falls
Collected from your hotel this morning for your flight into the Mitchell Plateau across extraordinary country, then hike up the Punamii-unpuu walking trail, swim in the fresh pools along the way before enjoying lunch at the falls. We then helicopter back and drop you to your exclusive Mitchell Wilderness Lodge for the night.
Mitchell Wilderness Lodge (1 night)
Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge offers a ‘touch of luxury in the wilderness’, and is in close proximity to the thunderous Mitchells Falls. The lodge is situated beside a lovely waterhole on Camp Creek, amongst Livistonia palms and eucalyptus trees. The camp is 70kms off the Kalumburu Road turn off. The Ungolan Pavilion fuses modern Australian, local craft and indigenous influences and includes a lounge, bar, library and dining areas. A deck provides easy access to the Lodge’s private waterhole.
Day 8: Wandjina Explorer
We pick you up after breakfast for an amazing day on the coast with our incredible guides out at Kalumburu. Check out the remote community, art gallery and mission then head to the coast for fresh oysters and hidden rock art sites, a picnic lunch and then a full coastal flight over King George Falls, Berkeley River, down to Adolphus island and over the mud flats of Wyndham and the lower Ord. We fly at 500 feet so you can spot the incredible marine life and huge crocodiles sunning themselves in the afternoon on the lower Ord riverbanks. Land in Kununurra where the tour ends.
